Review: The Book Thief
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I haven't cried at the end of a book in awhile, but I did at the end of this one. I think I won't be giving anything away to say that this book is not giggles and sunshine, narrated as it is by Death. And set in a small village near Munich during the late 1930s and early 1940s. The main character is a young girl taken by her mother to live with a couple--it's never really explained why--when she's about 8. The story covers the next 6 years or so.
