Villa Triste by Lucretia Grindle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This started very slow, and I wasn't sure I was going to get through it. And then...wow. I've never really read anything about Italy during WWII from an Italian point-of-view. Plus, it's about Florence, so I could picture the setting clearly. Really really really good. Nice mystery. Lots of red herrings. Good character development.
No clue where I found out about this, but thank you to whoever.
