Review: The Devil in the White City Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America

The Devil in the White City Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America The Devil in the White City Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America by Erik Larson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fascinating. I learned a lot about the history of Chicago in this, and finally got the low-down on H.H. Holmes. I had started a book (a novel) about him several years ago that was too hideous to finish, but this was much more sensible. Still awful, of course.

Again, though, I have to complain about the narrator. "Wilmette" is not pronounced "Will Meet"--I mean really. Do some freakin' research!
