I need to go back to reading these in order; I kept getting confused about when this takes place in the long story-line. Having said that, and aside from Anna's ankle being damaged again (seems like this happens in every book, or maybe I'm just conflating), this was a fascinating book. I'm not entirely sure how the Big Plot holds together--by the time Barr explains all that I was way too involved in being super-glad the actual bad guy is dead in a particularly gruesome way.
Also, wolves are awesome.
Also, ALSO: snow/cold SUCKS. I'm not looking forward to winter after reading this!

I'm glad you liked it in the end! It was a slow start, I know--but the payoff had me laughing with raw exhilaration. The baddest of the baddies.
