What?
That's weird enough, but then things get even weirder when Ranger shows up and says he's never seen her before...when he finds her dead in her car. And ohbytheway, someone has kidnapped his daughter (well, he used to be married, to someone else).
Suddenly Stephanie has a lot on her plate: do some actual work (picking up scary criminals), figure out who this crazy dead woman was, and helping find someone to pick up the slack while she's otherwise occupied. Oh, and keep Joe happy in spite of her hanging around with Ranger so much.
Not as wonderful as some of her earlier books, but Grandma and Lulu keep up their end of the bargain. There's even some funny action in the funeral home again, too.
