This was a very fast read. Joe is directed by the new governor to look into the disappearance of a British tourist who went missing after her stay at a chi-chi "dude ranch" (spa-ranch?) months earlier. Turns out his daughter was working there at the time, and it's hard to turn down the governor, so with misgivings, he's off to southern Wyoming where he finds Nate and a lot of weirdness going on.
Lots of things hinge on the course of this novel. The next one is going to be interesting. I don't know if Joe's going to spend much time outside doing his job. ...oh, wait...
