The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House by Kate Andersen Brower
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A peek behind the curtains at the White House at the staff who keep the place running smoothly and keep the First Family's privacy intact. Lots of good discussions about former Presidents and their families, and also about the racial tensions and security nightmares that have percolated in the White House over the years.
Good. Not particularly scholarly, but a fun place to start.
