Review: Alphabetical: How Every Letter Tells a Story

Alphabetical: How Every Letter Tells a Story Alphabetical: How Every Letter Tells a Story by Michael Rosen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fun look at the history of the alphabet, and how it's use has changed over millennia. Very British, with a couple of clinkers re American language usage. With each letter comes an essay on something to do with that letter, though the connection may be vague. Why is the alphabet A-Z rather than some other order? What is the deal with typewriter (and computer) keyboards? What about letters that didn't make the cut into our 26-letter list.
