Review: The Naming of the Dead
The Naming of the Dead by Ian Rankin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love John Rebus. This one happens in 2007 during the G-8 summit in Edinburgh, which is also when the London subway bombing happened. Siobhan is actually in charge of the case the two detectives are investigating--the murders of three convicted rapists after their release from prison--and John gets himself all wrapped up in the death of a government official at the castle during G-8 events. It's all rather complex and the fact that protests and demonstrations were going on here in the States while I was listening to the book made the whole thing rather surreal.
